Gustavo Dudamel and The Los Angeles Philharmonic will perform John Corigliano's Symphony No. 1 in Los Angeles and on their US tour in the spring of 2014. Performances begin with a series of concerts at Walt Disney Concert Hall from March 6-9, 2014, and then proceed to San Francisco (3/11); Avery Fisher Hall in New York (3/16); Washington, DC (3/18); Toronto, ON, Canada (3/19); Montreal, QC (3/20); and conclude in Boston (3/23).
Five new recordings are out this fall, including world-premières of four works: Conjurer, with Dame Evelyn Glennie; Vocalise, with Hila Plitmann; “Once There Was a Golden Bird,” Marie Antoinette’s aria from The Ghosts of Versailles, with Renée Fleming; and the never-heard score to the film Edge of Darkness. The fifth recording of the Clarinet Concerto and third recording of the Violin Concerto round out the list.
